Orientation Using excerpts from The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership (Maxwell, 1998), students will establish a common working definition of leadership and explore why it is important. Module 1 - Foundations Students will explore principles of “Servant Leadership” (Hunter, 1998) and “Extreme Ownership” (Willink & Babin, 2017), considering how these concepts can coexist and if there is tension between them. Module 2 - Leadership Theory Students will consider three leadership theories outlined by Peter Northouse (2021) and consider how these theories can apply in context. Module 3 - Formation Utilizing The Emotionally Healthy Leader (Scazzero, 2015), students will consider the importance of spiritual formation and emotional health in their leadership journey. Module 4 - Self-Awareness Students will utilize StrengthsFinder 2.0 (Rath, 2007) to discover their unique gifts and how to apply them in their leadership journey. Module 5 - Team Application Students will explore the importance of team dynamics (Lencioni, 2016) and forgiveness (Edwards, 1992). Module 6 - Capstone With the help of their mentor, each student will define a Capstone Project to summarize their LA journey and apply their knowledge to a particular ministry or marketplace context.
